Why a Beer Festival?

In response to a ‘wish’ list sent out at the beginning of 2004 to all residents by Haddenham Parish Council, Mark Houston volunteered to help run one of their ideas – a beer festival. He ended up being asked to run one!

One of the Parish Council’s objectives for 2004 was to plant trees around the village and the organisers happily agreed to put all the proceeds of the 1st Festival to that splendid objective, something for all residents and visitors to appreciate and enjoy.

In 2005 we donated the proceeds of the 2nd Festivalto the Snakemoor Local Nature Reserve on the outskirts of the village - click here to see pictures of the benefits arising from the donation.

Were you there? Why not look at our picture gallery and see if you can spot yourself? If you have any photos of either festival please feel free to email them to us at haddenhambeerfestival@gmail.com

The Organisers

An enthusiastic team organises the Festivals under the chairmanship of Mark Houston, working long into the winter nights arranging food, entertainment, sponsorship, etc. and, of course, selecting only the finest Real Ales for the Festival.

The organisers much appreciate offers of help on the day including manning the door, handling money & dispensing vouchers, serving the beer, preparing & serving food, serving soft drinks, putting up signs around the Village Hall and from the station and bus stops (and taking down afterwards!), helping move tables and chairs and clearing up afterwards on the Sunday morning.

To offer help for this year's festival, please contact Chris Young on 01844 290269
or email haddenhambeerfestival@gmail.com

Check out the photo galleries on the left. Plans are now being made for the 5th Festival - don't forget July 5th, 2008.
